Moving & Positioning

People moving and positioning

Enabling people to mobilise, be assisted to move, or to be moved safely, with dignity and comfort is an absolute right. If there is one thing we are passionate about, here it is, in a nutshell. After covering the basic theory on our ‘People Moving’ course, we spend as much time as possible working with staff to develop their skills and confidence in a practical ‘hands on’ manner. These skills make lives better. We will cover hoisting, slide-sheeting, along with assisted and supported movements.

Object moving and positioning

“Bend your knees and keep your back straight!”
If it is that easy why are manual handling injuries still the number one cause of time off work in the UK? Our course attempts the most difficult task in training; changing the way people think and behave. The manual handling regulations define manual handling as “the transportation or supporting of a load by hand or bodily force.” How often do you do that in a day?
Give us a call, and we will help you do this better.

People Moving and Positioning Trainer Training

We follow the guidelines set out by the National Back Exchange for our ‘Train the Trainer’ course. The full course is four days, but we often space these out to fit in with work patterns. The course fully equips a staff member to deliver in-house training. The course is aimed at those training people in moving and positioning. We also run one-day refresher courses with up-dates and fresh ideas. Both courses have strong practical elements.
